Many of the Outdoor Education centres offer programs for community members throughout the year. As well, many of these locations are open to the general public for a variety of activities. The OECO encourages all community members to participate in the wide range of community programs – many of them free! – available at OECO member sites. As programs change according to season, please contact the centres directly to learn more about available programs and facilities. Following are a few examples of programs and activities available for community members:
- MacSkimming’s annual Maplefest
- Mill of Kintail artist events
- Bill Mason’s annual Fall Family Day
- Cross-Country skiing at Bonnenfant (Trails maintained by the Kanata Nordic Ski Club)
- Forest nature trail walking and Eco Tour at South Nation Conservation partner site, Sand Road Sugar Camp
- Beach swimming, picnic sites, and renewable energy display at Baxter
