At the Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Centre, the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA offers a variety of Outdoor Education and leadership programs for school groups, community organizations, and professionals. Located on 12 hectares of mixed forest, open field, and rugged Ottawa River shoreline, Bonnenfant offers experiential, curriculum-driven Outdoor Education programs that can be delivered as customized one-day or multi-day outdoor experiences. Special features of Bonnefant include two low-ropes courses, a high-ropes course, a climbing wall, and a fleet of kayaks and canoes, as well as extensive hiking trails and forested land for nature interpretation and appreciation activities. In the winter, Bonnenfant is the perfect location for challenging physical and educational endeavors such as cross-country ski and snowshoe instruction as well as shelter building. The YMCA-YWCA has been delivering camping programs for more than 100 years. Its qualified, experienced staff is well-equipped to provide school and community groups with Outdoor Education programs throughout the year.
